Comet in Twilight

Carla-Bayle, an autumn evening.

The Autan wind blows in gusts,
carrying along its path thick clouds
recently formed in the southern sky.

Before disappearing below the horizon
that the Pyrenean chain draws,
the Sun briefly appears.

Burning heart, amber hair,
it sports the appearance of a comet
whose luster is reflected in the lake.

Remains of the protosolar nebula,
these small rocky, icy and dusty bodies
impacted in great number our Earth,

enriching it with water and other vital elements.
That was four billion years ago or so.
Shortly after, life on Earth gushed.
