point August 1 - 31, 2019 : « PhotoGraphism : a fresh perspective » exhibition at the Château des Ducs de Joyeuse, Couiza, Aude

Designed with Monique Samson, interior designer and graphic designer, this exhibition brings together works of art conceived on the basis of photographs, for most exhibited in the Exploration section, for some available in the form of original postcards. As a result of a subtle combination of techniques borrowed from the graphic arts and digital photography, they are part of the movement of an artistic trend called PhotoGraphism, which consists in offering a graphic re-interpretation of a photograph.

These works of art are on display in the square courtyard of the Château des Ducs de Joyeuse in Couiza, Aude, as part of the 5th Festival International du Film Insolite de Rennes-le-Château, which is being held from 20 to 24 August 2019.

Title : What are the limits of science ?
Summary : During this evening, various scientific topics have been addressed on the basis of thirty or so photographs taken in the Occitanie region: the creation of the world, the content of our Universe, the inner structure of our planet, the transition from the inert to the living, the evolution of life on Earth, the creation of archaeological databases as well as our perception of the beyond. Each of these research areas is hampered by a limit - of cultural, experimental, statistical, or ethical nature, that past and modern scientists constantly push(ed) in order to extend always more our field of knowledge - in other words, our understanding of Mankind and of the surrounding Nature.
